Part One
He paid for his coffee with three $1 bills; two crisp, one crumpled.
The crisp bills were the last of the money he had saved from Chinese New Year. He still had the red envelope that come stuffed fat with dollar bills. Right now it was tucked away, snugly fitted into the spine of a book he had long ago started but forgotten about.
The wrinkled bill he had found. It was laying on the floor of one of his favorite Vietnamese noodle shops. It was probably a tip, but he had a firm belief in the rule of law, and had no other moral choice but to uphold the code of Finders Keepers.
