Spring Break Photodump

Finally got around to uploading my pictures from spring break, which was a couple weeks ago.

Sweet no-name designer tie I got from the Goodwill in the Fillmore in SF. I like the abstract floral pattern and the color scheme.

Had to play dress up. I imagine myself as a crazy businessman. I don't think I'd excel in the world of commerce.

You want a raise?!

Coconut autopsy part one, in which Karyn demonstrates her tool-wielding abilities.

Extraction of the essential juices.

Revelry in victory.

The soft, fleshy interior.

A tasty morsel.

Team bike. I got to go bike camping for work! We took a kids' group called the Junior Rangers. Authority figure-to-children ratio = 1:9. I felt pretty stoked about my tactical walkie talkie holster.

Falling down or flying away? One of the Junior Rangers (pictured) taught me how to fold origami cubes. We used aluminum foil and tried to pop corn in them. Tried to.

Toasty. I was the guardian of the flame.

Day 55

Photos from the past couple weeks in no particular order.

The cement belly of the beast that is UC Berkeley.

Sather Gate at night, walking home from the library.

Goats! Near my parents' home in SF, the City sometimes uses goats to clear out the bramble bushes.

Campus landmark: Bronze statue of "The Friendly Football Players."

A critter cohabitating with some modern art.

One of the perks of working at the Tilden Little Farm: eggs.

Spring is here. It's been wet, but the blossoms are coming out and it's gorgeous.

Oh, the joy of collecting GPS data.

Day 31

It's time for the spring thaw. The image of a browning holiday wreath in the trash is somewhat of a contrived, though convenient metaphor.

My army of terra cotta beer bottles. They will accompany me into the afterlife. I just filled and capped all of them, and they should be ready in time for my birthday/Kyle's birthday/end of school/moving out of my apartment bash. Maybe I should refer to my birthday as my brisday. That is a much more vivid image, though a birth is pretty gory too, when you think about it. I don't really know why my parents opted for the extra incision. I guess the people at the hospital figured that if they already snipped the umbilical cord, they might as well lop off the foreskin while they were at it. Maybe they did it at no additional charge as some sort of promotional deal: "Free circumcision with every birth." I guess if that's the case, I can't really blame them, my parents. I mean, who wouldn't take a deal like that?

Old man Salinger is dead now. He died just the other day. Just in case you were too much of a moron to know.

Tonight is curry night! Yang makes a mean curry.
